“Media Creativity Award for Palestine”, which is organized by PIFMC, has reached to the final stage, and application closed on 31st of December 2017. The first session, entitled “Naji Al-Ali“, was launched on 22nd July 2017 in Beirut, in conjunction with the 30th anniversary of the assassination of Palestinian cartoonist Naji Al-Ali.

The judging committee consists of five members; Mr. Asaad Taha, the documentary producer and media expert; Mr. Jassem al-Azzawi, the Iraqi media expert; Dr. Abdullah Abu Awad, the Moroccan academician and media researcher; Mr. Imad Mousa, Palestinian digital media expert; and Ms. Rawan Al-Damen, the BOD member of the Palestine International Forum for Media and Communication.

Participation for this session was open to individuals and teams, whether working alone or through media, research, academic or civil society organizations. Winners will be announced and honored in a prize-giving ceremony in spring 2018; the first prize is $15,000; the second is $10,000; and the third is $5,000

“Media Creativity Award for Palestine” was launched in April 2016, specifically at “Tawasul II” conference held by the Palestine International Forum for Media and Communication. This award is planned to be conducted biennially, i.e. every two years in order to stimulate media creativity in all areas of media work for Palestine.
